Recoffee Design is a Brazilian timeless brand from Ribeirão Preto, SP, founded around 2017, that upcycles commercial coffee grounds (borra de café) with natural binders into rigid, biodegradable biopolymer for artisanal home decor, biojewelry, utensils, vases, lamps, clocks, and coffee accessories.
Born from reflection on coffee waste, Recoffee merges design and sustainability into unique pieces evoking the ritual of pause and reflection, using a lab-developed material that’s lightweight, heat-resistant, waterproof, odor-retaining (coffee scent), and free of chemicals or high energy—no recycling processes needed.
Originating as a design student’s thesis in São Paulo, co-founder Aninha (24 at launch) pioneered the biopolymer after months of testing; the brand honors nature’s uniqueness through handmade production, collaborating with artisans like ceramist Paula Sousa for items like coffee drippers.
